Abstract: There is an argument about the optimization capability of the Genetic Algorithm (GA) and whether its approach of search is guided or random. Although it has its own criticism, Schema theorem was the main effort for explaining the way a GA works, and justifying that the GA search is guided. After that, Schema theorem efforts continued for analyzing and justifying GA optimization approach with no complete analytic proof so far.
In this paper a different approach, namely a statistical approach, is used to test and justify guidance feature in the Genetic Algorithm when it is used for optimization purposes. Different standard functions have been tried and different tests have been done, and the results obtained proved that the GA is a guided search method and not random at all. Moreover, the tests carried out and results obtained proved the importance and necessity of each of the operators or techniques used by the GA.

Abstract-- In this work, the power of the Genetic Algorithms (GA) in searching for an optimal solution (in a pre-determined hyper space) is used to design the suitable configuration and parameters of the Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller. In most industrial plants, the PID controllers are configured either in cascade, feedback or in feed forward topologies. Besides, for each of these configurations the tuning gains have to be fixed in order to meet the required specifications. Therefore, GA is utilized efficiently to select the proper PID configuration in the context of signal following approach as well as the best tuning gains for the selected configuration. The proposed design procedure is applied to linear and nonlinear plants. It reflects a tremendous design results that heavily relied on computer to get the required controller.

Abstract:
In this paper we propose a new method of hiding information that produces a stego-image which is totally indistinguishable from the original image to extract the hiding message. GA is used as an efficient method to minimize the number of different bits between the cover image and the stego-image as minimum as possible by embedding the message in random locations of cover image, and then modifying the locations containing changed information in original image (cover) to improve stego-image quality. To satisfy excellent security we used a crypto-key which contains encrypted locations from hiding process. This key is used to extract the embedded message.
